What does the project do?
The project supports and empowers orphaned and impoverished children through art and education program. This project believes that art can provide opportunities and encouragement to disadvantaged children, as well as offer the gift of expression to many creative young minds. Art classes, photography classes, documentary video workshops, and mural painting are all included in the programs. Volunteers can get involved in any of these programs or propose their own.
This project is to help disadvantaged children realize their right to pursue an education. Volunteers will regularly visit families who are either being considered for a sponsorship or have already been admitted into the program. These are follow-up visits meant to help monitor their progress. You will also take part in weekly workshops for parents, holding discussions on various topics related to life skills and parenthood.
What’s the project like?
This project is in a fairly rural location in Danang City. You will enjoy your time in the green city and have time to discover the local culture where you can find nowhere in the world. Giving your time helping the children, it is a wonderful way to help the community development and bring the smile to the vulnerable groups.
Location
The Centre for Orphaned Children was located in Danang,Vietnam is a project supported by local community and volunteer. In the School there are one main room with two teachers and one nanny running 5 classes from grade 1st to 5th in the total of above 60 pupils. The children here almost come from poor families with no parents or parents work far from home or doing hard physical work. Studying in this school, the pupils follow the compulsory basic program for primary school. However, due to the lack of teachers, they are taught mainly math and literature. They are provided with old textbooks, notebooks and other stationary for free by the donation of different NGOs, charity groups, volunteer clubs…
Why do we need volunteers?
Local and international volunteers are needed to provide orphaned and impoverished children with a basic education. This will be done through educational games and activities created by the volunteer. Volunteers are desperately needed to act as teachers assistants and organize lectures for the students.
This project needs local and international volunteers to work cooperatively to create educational programs which include both Vietnamese and English subjects. VVS wish to improve their level of education and their access to knowledge in the hope that these students can lead better lives and be integrated into the community. The center is the only hope that they have for a better life.

Therefore, we need a lot of support from volunteers that provide study materials such as pens, books, notebooks, toys, and anything you have that you think it is good for students or can support them in study. It is very helpful for us if you have any guide book or some materials describe your country, the students can learn about your country and have their knowledge about the outside world.
