Project

What does the project do?
VVS believe that Education is fundamental to human progress, enabling individuals and communities to acquire skills and knowledge essential for improving the quality of life. But for vulnerable groups that include orphans, disable children, street kids and rural youth the basic education is limited. The education program will be a solution for this matter. The projects can be undertaken in a short and long term projects base and focus on traditional and new education methods for children and youth at the local school where lack of English native speakers and need the volunteer to help. Volunteer in this project, VVS would like to bring a hand of help from volunteers to the street children in this project, then bring them the good opportunity to integrate in the community to have a normal life.
What’s the project like?
This project is in a fairly rural location in Hanoi . You will enjoy your time in the most peaceful in the world and have time to discover the local culture where you can find nowhere in the world. Giving your time helping the street children, it is a wonderful way to help the community development and bring the smile to the vulnerable groups.
Location
The Centre for Street and Abandoned Children inHanoi,Vietnam is a governmental project of the local Committee for Children and Mothers Protection. This Centre works with children who are forced at a young age to earn a living by collecting rubbish, begging, polishing shoes, working in handicraft factories and other like activities. Currently the center houses seventy students hold three classes- two in the morning and one in the afternoon. As a result, the students are not receiving a full curriculum and the staff is overworked.
Why do we need volunteers?
Local and international volunteers are needed to provide orphaned and street children with a basic education. This will be done through educational games and activities created by the volunteer. Volunteers are desperately needed to act as teachers assistants and organize lectures for the students.
This project needs local and international volunteers to work cooperatively to create educational programs which include both Vietnamese and English subjects. VVS wish to improve their level of education and their access to knowledge in the hope that these students can lead better lives and be integrated into the community. The center is the only hope that they have for a better life.
Special requirements
It is very important that all volunteers be prepared to work with children! Volunteers must be highly motivated and keep in mind that the children are the first and most important reason volunteers are asked to work at orphanage school.
Volunteers must be 18 years or older and have finished high school when starting the program. This can either be university studies (a degree is not necessary) or relevant working experience. The participant must speak English fluent, have IT skill is preferable.
Donation
The class is supported by the local authority with construction; all the material for education is supported by volunteers and organizations who willing donate something. Then we need a lot of support from volunteers that provide study materials such as pens, books, notebooks, toys, and anything you have that you think it is good for students or can support them in study. It is very helpful for us if you have any guide book or some materials describe your country, the students can learn about your country and have their knowledge about the outside world.
Activities and schedule
The activities and schedule will be set by VVS or the inquiries, suggestions from participants. The plan will be fixed before the trip . All of the activity plans will be send and let participants know via email.
Project resources and advice
All the things support for activities in the project will be provided by VVS and local support. You just only need to bring all your clothes are needed for you. There are four seasons in the North of Vietnam: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. The weather is really hot in Summer, cool in Autumn and Spring, and really cold winter. Then when you plan to go to Vietnam take part in the project, you should check the time and weather how it is.
Cameras, laptop will be very helpful to you to record all interesting things and memorable things. A story book also helps you to relax in your free time.

The guest house, home stay, hotel is available for approximately $80 per week depending upon the holiday seasons; it is really comfortable accommodation with WIFI, TV and all modern conveniences.
